Portuguese Tour is specially designed to for people looking to visit the history of Portuguese influence in Mumbai, Daman & Diu. There are some very interesting places to visit in this tour. The massive Portuguese fort in Diu is also flanked by a charming garden. On the right are series of hotels and houses. The fort commands a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. The tourists love to take pictures from the fort of the exotic backwaters of Arabian Sea. From the Light House the view of the silent seas is beautiful. Recently a jail and a museum have been constructed. The Fort may be seen by visitors from 7-00—12-00 and again from 14-00—17-00 hr.

Day 01: ARRIVE MUMBAI

Arrive Mumbai by flight. Meet on arrival and transfer to your pre-booked Hotel.

Day 02: MUMBAI

Morning proceed for a Half Day Excursion of Elephanta Caves with an accompanied English Speaking Guide. Afternoon Half Day Sightseeing Tour of Mumbai.

Day 03: MUMBAI / BASSEIN / DAMAN ( 185 Kms / 05 Hours )

We proceed by surface to Bassein Fort enroute to Daman. The Bassein Fort is located in Vasai. During 1500's this fort was Created by Portuguese who stayed there till somewhere near 1700's and since then Vasai fort is still like that. Condition of this Monument of vasai is not very good now, however one can see the old beautiful work being inside the fort, as it is located at coastal location. In The Middle of the Fort, lies a Portuguese Church with a Cemetery which is an old Heritage of the Fort with Names written in Latin on it.

Later we reach Daman and check in at pre-booked Hotel.

Day 04: DAMAN

Proceed for a Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Daman visiting Church of Bom Jesus - This early 17th century church dedicated to Bom Jesus is one of oldest church in Daman which was completed in 1603 AD. Also visit Devka Beach and later proceed to Fort of Nani Daman - This fort has has three bastions and two gateways. The most conspicuous part of the Fort is the giant gateway facing the riverwith a large statue of St. Jerome and two giant human figures, on either side of the gateway. We now reach Jampore Beach - one of the safest beach to swim. Later visit The Lady of Remedios Church at Nani Daman and The Fort of Moti Daman / Light House - The massive Fort that runs roundthe settlement like a girdle, dates back to 1559 AD. We then visit Our Lady of Rosary Church in Moti Daman which dates back to the 16th Century.

Day 05: DAMAN / MUMBAI ( 185 Kms / 05 Hours )

Drive by surface for Mumbai after Breakfast. Arrive Mumbai and check in at your pre-booked Hotel or to the Airport to board flight for onward destination.

POST EXTENSION PROGRAMME :

Day 06: MUMBAI / GOA - By Flight / Train

Arrive in Goa, You shall be met by our representative who will transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. Overnight at the resort.

Day 07: GOA

Post breakfast, you shall be met by Our Portuguese Speaking Guide. You shall be briefed on the program. We start our Tour with a visit to the famous Basilica of Bom Jesus which houses the mummified body of the patron saint of Goa, St. Francis Xavier. The Se Cathedral ( Se Cathedral of Santa Caterina) dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria. It is One of the oldest and most celebrated religious buildings in Goa and is one of the largest churches in Asia. It houses a large Golden Bell on account of it's rich tone. It is said to be the largest in Goa and One of the best in the world.

After the churches we visit the Fontainhas, the Latin quarters, passing through the famous statue of Abade Faria or Jose Custodio de Faria trying to hypnotize a women, next to the Government Secretariat that was sculpted in 1945 by famous sculptor Ramchandra Pandurang Kamat of Madkai. Later we take you to the Dona Paula Jetty, you may have to walk a few minutes, after you reach the main point enjoy the sea breeze and the Arabian sea view. Later we drive towards the "CALIZZ" means the heart in Goan (Konkani) language, it depicts the life of Dona Berta and the portugese and pre-portugese era ( a very nice experience). Later we drive for Lunch at O'Coqueiro (famous for Portugese and Goan cuisines) this is an optional part or else we drive to the resort.

Day 08: GOA

The day is free to relax by the pool or explore Goa on own.

Day 09: GOA / ONWARD DESTINATION

Morning at leisure. In time transfer to the Airport to board flight for onward destination.
